REVEALED: My Sexual Encounter With Davido Was The Best Ever – Kenyan Socialite, Pendo Staciey Brianar....

A ‘ ’ is claiming she slept with the young Nigerian singer this past weekend while he was in the country for a performance at the Bombaata Festival which also featured Nigerian artiste Ice Prince, singer Victoria Kimani and some other acts.
popularly known as is alleging she got to have a sexual encounter with the hours after the concert ended, claiming to have hooked up with him at a Kenyan night club ‘Galileo’.
Pendo seemed to have a whole to say: the controversial young Kenyan lady in a lengthy chat with a Kenyan blog took time to narrate her experience with Davido.
Pendo says she met up with Davido hours before the show through HKN Gang’s Deekay. ‘I made my way there, got to at long last meet Deekay, my long-time pal from HKN and through him; I made my way to skyluxx for the play house party where all of us stuck up in the VIP area. I knew I had won my jackpot so there was nothing to worry about. As a matter of fact, he (Davido) had spotted me too; we talked in a way only the two of us could understand’, Pendo narrates.
Pendo says she wasn’t worried if Davido was going to choose another girl to take back to his hotel room after the ‘after party’ so she didn’t even bother going for the show…
‘I had my fun and made my way home ready for the big day as I said I was not worried, so there’s was no time in me hustling to go to the backstage as other girls did…no! I had my food ready to eat, after the event, my friend Deekay (HKN) buzzed me and asked me to turn up that he (Davido) was asking for me.
I made my way to Galileo with
my girlfriends, I minded my own business until he spotted me and asked his DJ to come get me, I still had no rush to be seen hanging out with him or anything, so I sat down n had my drink that he offered’, she continues her story.
davido-and-pendo-image-from-africaeaglePendo says when it was time to leave the hangout spot, the organizers thought it best for them to leave in separate cars just to avoid the media. ‘So David paid for my cab that followed them directly to the hotel located in Hurlingham. When I got there, he sent his deejay (DJ Olu) to give me his key card to his room as he talked to someone. He escorted me to the room and the rest is self-explanatory’.
Now, Pendo is known for spinning stories to get mentioned on blogs and social network (she’s also been mentioning @Iam_Davido on Twitter) so everybody is finding this story hard to believe. But then again, she must be one damn good storyteller too!

‘Today Marks The Beginning Of A New Dawn For Nigeria’ APC Says On INEC Registration...

APCINECThe newly registered All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Nigerians on the emergence of the new party, saying with the formal recognition of the party by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), long-suffering Nigerians can now look forward to the beginning of a new dawn.
In a statement issued by its interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed in Lagos on Wednesday, APC, which is now the largest opposition party in the country, said its emergence is a victory for Nigeria and for democracy, and that it has now also propelled the country to the league of top democratic nations with two major political parties.
“The journey has been long and tortuous. All sorts of obstacles were thrown into our path by anti-democratic forces, but we were painstaking, determined and unrelenting in our quest for a formidable platform that will allow our country, Nigeria, to achieve her full potentials and join the league of respectable nations.
“With the approval of our merger by INEC and the emergence of APC, today marks the beginning of a new dawn for our country and her long-suffering people. We thank Nigerians both here and in the Diaspora for standing by us. We thank the media for their fairness, and we commend INEC for doing the right thing and for not succumbing to pressures from phantom political associations that sought to force it to circumvent the law.
“We promise not to disappoint Nigerians who have reposed much confidence in us. We say that contrary to the lies being peddled by the naysayers, we are not seeking political power for the sake of getting it, but in order to use it to empower our people and allow their long-nursed hopes and dreams to become a reality.
“And to those who have vowed to change their names if APC survives for a year, we hope they will live up to their words,” it said.
The party urged Nigerians to look forward to a truly democratic party in the best traditions of what the world considers as the best form of government.
APC promised to make known, in the days ahead, its membership registration plans to give all Nigerians, especially those who have become disenchanted with the way things are going in the country, the much-awaited opportunity to be part of the country’s democratic process in the true sense of the word.
“We will also be unveiling our plans to turn today’s hopelessness into a time of great opportunities, to reverse the downward slide in our socio-economic development, and to ensure that every Nigerian benefits from the commonwealth, instead of the present situation in which a few fat cats are milking the system dry at the expense of the citizenry,” APC said.

Beverly tells Angelo she loves him&asks if he can marry a girl like her...

Last night while having a quiet intimate moment together, Nigerian rep Beverly Osu told her South African love interest Angelo that she's in love with him
"I try to deny that I love you because I’m thinking it’s too early to love you when I don’t know how you are in the outside world,” Beverly said to Angelo
Angelo replied: "To be honest, I’m also kind of scared of knowing you on the outside”
Beverly to Angelo - after telling him she's told him everything there is to know about her, including how she used to sleep with men for money to help her family and how she once had an abortion
"Can you marry a person like me?”
Angelo replied "Yes, but would you marry someone like me?” Beverly said yes, that she loves him.
You think these two will make it outside the BBA House? They kinda look good together.
The federal government hinted on Wednesday that following "serious negotiations" it has made with aggrieved lecturers, the ongoing strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) will soon come to an end.
Disclosing this after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku who appealed to both parents and university students to be patient with government and show more understanding, added that since the industrial action began, the federal government had been seriously disturbed over the social costs that would be incurred by the disruption of academic calendar.
Maku said, "The federal government has been far more worried than you think concerning the strike in tertiary institutions, because of the disruption of the school calendar. And so government is concerned and very worried. From the onset, government has been negotiating with ASUU through the ministry of labour and productivity and the ministry of education. As at today, we know that these negotiations are going on and it is our expectation that this strike will not get more protracted and that an understanding will be reached soon enough to enable our students return back to school.
“So, we are appealing to our people, particularly, parents and children of this nation to bear with us, to show more understanding and we pray that this type of strike will not re-occur, because the public school system suffers a lot of damage with the perennial strikes. The universities have been relatively stable since the advent of this administration.

“I’ll Behead Homosexuals…” Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe...

zimbabwe-party

The world seems to be in a cold war on this homosexuality issue and from the different ends of the planet, famous faces have began reacting to who accepts or judges homos. We’re of the opinion that this matter won’t go to rest perhaps until thy kingdom comes.
Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu was quoted saying, “If God is homophobic – hates gay or has negative attitudes and feelings towards homosexuality – then I will rather go to hell instead of worship Him”. Shocked? Hold on till you get The Pope’s statement, “If a person is gay and seeks God and has good will, who am I to judge him?”  Now your mouth can be left ajar for centuries.
These men of God happen to know the bible back to back and if religion can be dug up one more time, then it’s narrated that God Almighty destroyed a whole city (Sodom & Gomorrah) because of this same behavior. Confused? Not yet!
The Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe  has probably enough of these big talks. So he came out to make it categorically clear to all his citizens that he ‘will not’ give God any reason to destroy the country he loves so dearly as to die serving it.
The president has always been against legalizing this behavior in any part of the world referring to it as ‘unnatural and unacceptable’. Addressing the Zulu PF Party members prior to the July 31st elections, he stated that gay citizens are worse than ‘pigs, goats and birds’ put together and he will not stop criminalizing them.
“If we take two grown men who claim they are homosexuals and lock them up in a room for five years and if they fail to produce children, I will chop off their heads… Instead we will raise the statues of women and then accuse other African countries of adulterating our African Culture just for aid”…President Mugabe sternly delivered.
There have been some mixed reactions coming from his people who fear if he’s just being cynical or his old age is having the better part of him. “We will wait and hope he keeps to his words” were some of the comments put out that same day.
Good thing there is a famous old face saying something different, at least now we all have the option of choice. However, the continent has more pertinent issues on her plate to deal with rather than pouring too much energy into something that those practicing it in Africa are even ashamed to step forward!

Lagos Policemen Kill Undergraduate and Friend In A Gruesome Video..Terrible...

the-hoodlums-in-action.-insert-nwainokpo1-360x225 attached to the Badagry Police Division, State, and some hoodlums have been accused of killing a 25-year-old of Delta State University, Ifechukwude Nwainokpor, and his friend, identified simply as Kazeem.
An eight-minute video clip of the gruesome killing showed the two victims handcuffed together. They were covered in their own blood and beaten to death with sticks. Tyres were also put round   their necks.
An irate mob could be seen in the video, shouting, “die, die, burn them, burn them.”
At some points in the video, a policeman was seen interviewing the boys. He asked who sent them (victims) to rob the area, an accusation they denied. One of the hoodlums, holding a sharp object attempted to cut off the private part of one of the victims.
Nwainokpor could be seen pleading with the hoodlums and policemen to spare his life, saying he could identify himself if given a chance. His plea, however, fell on deaf ears.
A source, who visited the family of Nwainokpor  on Tuesday, learnt that the lynching took place around 3pm on July 21, 2013 in Ajara area of Badagry, a community not far from Nwainokpor’s family home.
His father, Samuel said that his son was arrested while passing through a street in the area  but a misunderstanding later ensued and the hoodlums pounced on  him  and Kazeem.
He added that  Nwainokpor, who was nicknamed Ify, was a final year student of Geology and Mining.
He said, “On that particular day, I was in Ghana when I received a telephone call  that I should come immediately. My wife was in Delta State taking care of her   mother.
“When I arrived two days later, my relatives and the caretaker of my house  told me that my son was killed in the Ajara area along with his friend. I was devastated.
“I got my son a  temporary job with a Customs licensed  agent since their lecturers were on strike.  He worked everyday except on Sundays when he visited his  friends. On that day, he went to see Kazeem and they were strolling around Ajara.”
Samuel said because there had been a robbery in Ajara four days earlier, some of the residents were on the lookout for strange faces.
He added that when the youth  saw two unknown young men, they  accosted them and an argument ensued.
He said the youth  called the head of the vigilante group   in the area, one Asiribo.
He said, “Asiribo came to the scene with a locally-made pistol and handcuffs. He handcuffed my son and his friend  before asking them questions.
“Later, it was decided that the boys be taken to the Baale, Agano Oniyon of Agamade Ajara. But as they were going, Asiribo, while trying to return his gun into its  pouch, mistakenly shot himself in the stomach and died.”
Samuel said Asiribo’s death infuriated the youth, who  blamed the boys for  his  death.“The mob picked up sticks  and beat them to death. Policemen were there,” he said.
Holding back tears, the retired immigration officer   added  that the police treated the matter as a robbery case. Beating  his chest,  Samuel said there was no way his son would have been involved in  armed robbery.
Nwainokpor’s boss, Aloysius Onyenibedi, described him as an honest and hardworking person.
“I trusted him to the extent that I used to keep a lot of money with him. He was good to my children and was honest,” he said.
The Nwainokpor family berated the Divisional Police Officer, Badagry Police Station,  Dankoli Mohammed, for the manner he treated the case.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, said, “The incident is quite pathetic. Even if they were armed robbers, no one has the right to take the life of another. Why then do we have the police and the judiciary? The Nigerian police as well as the law condemn mob action and jungle justice. The commissioner of police has set up a high- powered investigation body to investigate the matter.”

42 Boko Haram Suspects Arrested in Lagos and Ogun states....

42 suspected members of  Boko Haram  were on Monday paraded by the  81 Division of the Nigerian Army  in .
They were nabbed between July 12 and July 23 in various parts of Lagos and
According to the Nigerian Army, the suspects fled  from  Borno State following a state of emergency  declared by the Federal Government.
Although most of the suspects spoke in Hausa language,  a few  who  managed to communicate   in pidgin, confessed that they had been involved in terrorist activities in the past.
One of them,  Hassan Ibrahim, who  admitted recruiting some of the suspects, disclosed that he, accompanied by Ibrahim Ismail and Alhaji Black,  killed a soldier and a civilian  identified only as Buka in  Maiduguri.
He said, “We rode  a tricycle in Maiduguri and killed a soldier and one Buka. It was Alhaji Black that pulled the trigger. We also carried out some other operations in the area.
“Later, I met both Ismaili and Alhaji Black in Lagos, while I was riding okada (motorcycle).”
Black, who was  also accused by Ismail of being a member of the sect,  denied the accusation. He said he had been riding a motorcycle in Lagos in the past five years, adding that he was arrested during a raid in Kirikiri, a surburb of Lagos.
Some of the other suspects denied being terrorists, saying that they had been in Lagos for many years.
The General Officer Commanding  the  81 Division,Maj.- Gen. Obi Umahi, said the suspects were arrested during  raids  by intelligence operatives. He  explained the raid was carried out following intelligence report that   the sect planned to unleash terror on parts of the South-West.
He said the raids were conducted at Ibafo trailer park    and Ileke new trailer garage in Ogun State; Aviation quarters at Mafoluku, Oshodi; Ketu/Mile 12 Motor Park; Orile Trailer Park; Lekki new extension and Bar Beach.
These places, according to him, were fast becoming Boko Haram enclaves.
Umahi said that during interrogation, some of the suspects  gave useful information that led to the  arrest of  others.
The GOC said, “From investigations, we cannot say if they are in Lagos to stage an attack or running for their lives. Investigations would reveal that,” he said.
The Director, State Security Service, Lagos State Command, Mr. Ben Olayi, who spoke to our correspondent on the telephone, said the sudden interest in Lagos State by the suspected sect members was predictable because Lagos has a special status.
Olayi said the SSS was collaborating with its sister agencies in the state to make sure that no terror plot succeeded.
He said, “We will not stop doing what we have been doing in terms of security. We will keep monitoring them (terrorists). We had anticipated that when the heat was much for them in the North, some of them would come to Lagos because Lagos is always the city of first choice.
“We have not made any arrests in recent times but we have been giving other security agencies information which they have been using to make arrests.”

Although early speculations claimed Wande Coal was never signed to Mavin Records – on paper and he was only working with the Don Jazzy led record label. This tie is said to have been ended and Wande Coal has fully-floated his record label Black Diamond Entertainment.
This move was made obvious by his latest single Kilaju which dropped yesterday – with Don Jazzy keeping mute about the song, Wande Coal was made to do all the online promotion himself with no support from the entire Mavin Records gang including their online PRs.
The reason Wande did not sign with Mavin on launch was that he strongly believes Mavin Records cannot move his career to the next level and disagreement over sharing of monies with Wande not willing to shift ground on 10% with Mavin asking for 20%. Wande is also still working with his manager, Nana.
In a different twist, have you heard Wande Coal mention the word Mavin before?

Edo seals Benin Airport over tax....

Edo seals Benin Airport over tax
Business activities were on Tuesday paralysed at the Benin Airport as the Edo State Internal Revenue Services sealed up the administrative offices of the Benin Airport over non-remittance of N15m “Pay As You Earn Tax.”
The money was allegedly deducted from FAAN employees in 2011.
Passengers that arrived Benin could not leave the airport as the two gates leading to the airport were under lock and key.
Some of the passengers had to leave the airport by breaking down the barb wire that served as perimetre fencing to the place.
Cab operators were also trapped inside the airport as well as other passengers that did not want to leave through the fence.
Passengers scheduled for morning flights could not leave as flights did not depart the airport following the shut down.
Chairman of EDIRS, Chief Oseni Elemah, who led security operatives to open the airport gates, said the locking of the gates was a ploy to blackmail the state government.
He said only the offices were sealed by his officials and not the gates.

DHQ orders troops to fish out killers of 22....

DHQ orders troops to fish out killers of 22
The Defence Headquarters has ordered Special Forces to fish out those who killed 22 persons in Dawashi and Mainok in Borno State last Saturday.
It also confirmed that many innocent civilians, mostly women and children were killed during the attack.
The DHQ, which made its position known in a statement by the Defence Spokesman, Brig.-Gen. Chris Olukolade, said troops are being deployed in the affected communities to protect lives and property.
Although it acknowledged that recourse to ambush by Boko Haram was meant to intimidate civilians, DHQ urged Nigerians not to waiver in the fight against terrorism.
The statement said: “A large scale shooting and murder by terrorists of over 22 and infliction of varying degree of injuries on over 18 members of Borno Youth Vigilance Group in Dawashi and Mainok in Borno State last Saturday has been reported.
“It is also believed that a number of other innocent civilians mostly women, children and elderly were killed in the unprovoked attack.
“The incidents which followed separate attacks on the group and the two communities are consistent with the new pattern of operations by the terrorists after the loss of their camps.
“This practice of laying ambush or attacking innocent civilians by terrorists lately is meant to intimidate Nigerians who have rejected the activities of terrorists in their communities.
“The Special Forces have been directed to ensure that the perpetrators of the recent incidents are tracked down and the manhunt for them is in progress accordingly.
“Meanwhile, more troops and equipment are being deployed in the operation to ensure better coverage and protection of communities in the operational area.
“All citizens are enjoined to maintain high level of vigilance and continue to cooperate with security forces in the operation.
“Members of the vigilance group in particular are being counseled to endeavor to work only under the strict guidance and protection of the security forces on ground in their localities.”

Lamido, Wamakko, Kwankwaso, Nyako meet Shagari in Sokoto
Four northern governors including Sokoto state governor, Aliyu Wamakko held a closed door meeting in Sokoto on Tuesday.
Wamakko and three other governors – Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso (Kano) and Sule Lamido ( Jigawa) also visited former president Shehu Shagari at his Sama Road Residence.
However, the governors refused to disclose the outcome of their meeting with Shagari.
When asked by journalists to comment on their meeting shortly before leaving Sokoto, Lamido said they were in the state to consult with eminent Nigerians on the multifaceted problems and challenges confronting the nation.
“Just as we have visited other states in the recent past, the same thing brought us to Sokoto to fine tune ways and find solutions to the country’s multiple problems,” he explained.
The governor, who did not give room for questions relating to politics also said,” you know Nigeria’s fundamental problem lies on security challenges which we are working round the clock to tackle so that it can be overcome.”

FG moves to remove Nigeria from money laundering list
The Federal Government on Tuesday constituted a committee to fast-track Nigeria’s removal from the list of countries having issues with the Financial Action Taskforce on Anti-Money laundering/Counter Financing Terrorism regimes.
The committee led by the Vice President Namadi Sambo, during its maiden meeting on Tuesday, pledged to ensure that Nigeria is completely removed from the list.
According to him, President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration believed that Nigeria should not remain on the public statement of the FATF with the measures regarding laws and regulations already put in place.
He said: “I urge you all to work hard towards ensuring that we maintain the integrity of our financial system through effective implementation of laws and regulations against financial improprieties.”
Sambo, therefore directed the immediate sanitisation of the country’s international airports particularly the enforcement of currency regime declaration by travelers.
The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on FATF, Mr. Stephen Oronsaye, noted that the committee had made considerable inroads in ensuring that Nigeria was removed from the FATF list, particularly in areas of strict implementation of rules and regulations in the financial system.

My Body Is Mine And I Can Expose It – Adaora Akubilo, Nigerian Model..She is sexy though....

Adaora-Akubilo 1

This is the terse diatribe 24-year-old Nigerian model of international repute, Adora Akubilo has fired to her countrymen who are in the habit of criticizing her for her nude pictures every other day.
The American born Igbo model feels that she has the right to pose in the nude for Sport Illustrated Magazine and does not mind whose Ox is gored as long as her body belongs to her. In a recent interview with Culture Shock Nigeria, Adaobi, said; “Well, what I would say about the blog posts and the nudity thing, my father is very proud of me, first and foremost. I am a well rounded individual. I did everything he wanted me to do, and kind of like what I wanted to do, like going to school, getting my education, and this is just something that I’m adding to my resume and my life achievements and accomplishments so he’s very proud of me. And as long as I’m happy that’s all he cares about. If I wasn’t comfortable doing it and if I felt like I was in some way doing something that would embarrass my family, I would never do anything that would embarrass my family or myself for that matter. So nudity done in a tasteful way, and if you’re comfortable, God created these bodies of ours, you know, I’m just celebrating it and getting paid at the same time so that’s a good thing.”
Hmmm, good talk there Adaobi. Go on, pose as nude as you want, after all, your body is yours, like you said and since your father, an Igbo man, is comfortable with it, who are we to think otherwise?

Bombing: Grand design to push north into deeper crisis – JNI...

The Muslim umbrella body in the north, Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) on Tuesday raised an alarm of what it called a grand design to push the entire north into deeper crises and by extension the Nigerian federation.
Reacting to Monday’s multiple bomb explosion in Kano in which several people died, the JNI in a statement signed by its secretary General, Dr. Khalid Aliyu Abubakar, wondered why the killing of innocent people have continued unabated especially in the north.
The body said that the repeated acts of bombings call for concerted introspection, as they point to the fact that there is the urgent need for proactive and effective ways of addressing these precarious security upheavals presently being witnessed in the country.
The statement made available to The Nation reads: “Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) once again under the leadership of His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, the Sultan of Sokoto and the President-General, received with bewilderment the news of the orchestrated multiple bomb blasts which were reported to have occurred yesterday night, at Sabon Gari, Kano, Kano State resulting in collateral damages and many lives lost.
“We strongly condemn the inhuman and ungodly act in its totality as it is reprehensible, and we equally call for calm and restrain. As it has always been our prayers, whatsoever is the intent/motive of the perpetrators of these contemptible acts, they will never succeed insha’Allah.
“JNI is perplexed that this act of unleashing terror on human lives continued unabated, despite visible number of uncountable security check-points mounted all through Northern Nigeria. More worrisome is the fact that this beastly act of terror comes just 24 hours after unleashing same on fishermen and traders in Kaka and Kukawa Local Government Areas of Borno State, which also claimed many innocent lives and loss of many properties worth millions of naira.”
“These repeated acts call for concerted introspection, as they again point to the fact that there is the urgent need for proactive and effective ways of addressing these precarious security upheavals presently being witnessed in the country.

Rivers House Leader to face attempted murder charge...

•Lloyd to defend six counts in court
Rivers State House of Assembly Leader Chidi Lloyd has been slammed with a six-count charge by the police over the July 9 fracas in the House.
Lloyd is expected to be taken before a Magistrate’s Court in Port Harcourt, the state capital, today.
It was gathered yesterday that the charges filed against him include conspiracy, attempted murder, assault and malicious damage.
The police yesterday said they were handling the investigation into allegations against Lloyd professionally.
Police spokesman Frank Mba also said that the lawmaker was moved in an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC)from the Port Harcourt Airport to the State Police Command Headquarters.
But Rivers State Police Commissioner Mbu Joseph Mbu said he had not seen Lloyd since he was brought to Port Harcourt from Abuja where he gave himself up after being declared wanted by the police.
Lloyd turned himself in to the police on July 25, following the crisis in the Assembly on July 9.
He was declared wanted by the police for his alleged role in the fracas.
Mba told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone from Abuja that detectives handling the case were professional.
He said it was untrue that the police tortured the detained lawmaker.
“I want to say that our handling of the investigation involving Chidi Lloyd has been as professional as possible.
“Detectives investigating that case have been very meticulous, very professional. We have done everything humanly possible to ensure that the honourable’s rights are respected.
“It is not true that he is being manhandled, it is not true that he was tear-gassed and it is also not true that he was moved from the airport to the state command headquarters in a black Maria.
“As a matter of fact, we used an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) to move him from the airport to the command headquarters. And the reasons are obvious, because of the peculiar nature of Rivers State politics.“
He said the police had enough men on ground to escort the motorcade carrying the House Leader from the airport to state police command headquarters.
“I can also assure that it is not true that Chidi Lloyd is having any health issue. He is doing very well,“ he said.
Mbu washed his hands off the case , saying Abuja is handling it.
The police chief, speaking to reporters yesterday, said he had not seen the embattled lawmaker for many months. He exonerated the Police from all allegation of torture on the legislator, insisting that the police do not torture suspects.
“The offence Chidi Lloyd committed is not an imagination, it is real and all of us may have seen it. The Police have no cause to torture him.
“I just want to clear my name, I’m not involved, I have not seen him. I saw him last physically when he came to report a case that his vehicle was hit by company’s car which we investigated and it was over.
“I want to throw more light, I have read in the newspapers that I sent about 500 riot policemen to the airport to arrest and bring Lloyd, who is in the police custody on the offence of attempted murder. “As you all know, no day passes without the name of the commissioner of police Rivers state being mentioned in your dailies. I’m so happy because all of you have made me become so popular in Nigeria and beyond.
“The case involving Rivers state House of Assembly is being investigated and handled by the deputy inspector-general of Police, force CID., Abuja.
“The said Chidi Lloyd reported in Abuja, Abuja brought him here and he is under their custody. I have not even seen him because there is a commissioner of Police in Abuja who came in with him to prosecute him.
“That is the truth about the case involving the House leader. The case is out of our hand, and I can’t even remember when I saw him except in a video clip.”
It will be recalled that the CP at a news briefing after the July 9 Assembly fracas said Llyod brought a letter requesting him to give police protection for the House sitting .
Lloyd who is representing Emuoha constituency in the House of Assembly is being detained and investigated over his roles in the July 9, free-for-all in the House.
On arrival in Port Harcourt last Friday, his lawyer, Beluolisa Nwaofor (SAN) and Emenike Ebete, raised dust over alleged torture of their client. They told Justice Esor Teetito of a State High Court that he was flown into Port Harcourt in blindfold.
They expressed fears over his safety in custody.

Nigerians, others drown on way to Italy...Italian media yesterday detailed how migrants, including Nigerians attempting to cross into Italy perished off the Libyan coast

Nigerians, others drown on way to Italy
Italian media yesterday detailed how migrants, including Nigerians attempting to cross into Italy perished off the Libyan coast

Thirty-one migrants, including nine women, drowned off the coast of Libya during an attempted crossing to Italy according to survivors who managed to complete the journey, Italian media reported.
A dinghy carrying 53 migrants capsized on Friday evening, and witnesses said 31 of those who had been thrown off it drowned in the accident. Some of them are believed to be Nigerians.
The twenty-two survivors, who come from Nigeria, Gambia, Benin and Senegal, said the dinghy had capsized after three days at sea. They were rescued by a passing merchant ship and taken to Lampedusa Island, the reports said.
Italian Interior Minister Angelo Alfano called for human traffickers who shuttle migrants across the sea to Italy to be stopped on Sunday, after 31 boat people drowned during an attempted crossing.
“The traffic of human beings must end. We need to stop the merchants of death. The deaths off the Libyan coast and the terrible stories told by the survivors show the need for a real collaboration between countries to stop this string of tragic events,” Alfano said.
He called for “the network of collaboration to be strengthened with the countries where the migratory flows begin” and slammed “the wicked commerce of men who place their trust in the death merchants, who are but cynical profiteers of a state of emergency.”
As the number of boat immigrants attempting the crossing soars in the good weather, rescuers saved another 450 people trying to reach Italy on Friday and Saturday, increasing tensions at the already crowded refugee centre on the island.
Another 92 migrants — including 16 women — were rescued Sunday morning in the Strait of Sicily after their boat got into difficulty.
Since 1999, more than 200,000 people have arrived on Lampedusa — which is closer to North Africa than Italy — making it, along with the Greece-Turkey border, one of the biggest gateways for undocumented migrants and refugees into the European Union.
In nearby Malta, 112 migrants were saved from their drifting dinghy overnight Saturday in a 13-hour operation during which eight of those rescued were airlifted to hospital by helicopter for urgent medical attention.
That group — which included 20 women and four children — was suffering from exhaustion, dehydration and sun stroke, a Maltese army spokesman said.
The Pope arrived on a Sicilian island to pray for boat migrants who have died trying to land there – at the same time as nearly 200 immigrants from Africa were being detained.
Pope Francis was to throw a wreath of flowers into the sea off Lampedusa in memory of those who have drowned over the years.
The Vatican said he had been “profoundly touched” by the flood of immigration to the tiny island.
Just as his plane landed on the island in his first trip outside Rome, a large group of immigrants was being escorted into the port on a coast guard boat.
All were described as in “good” condition before they were taken away by bus to be processed.
The latest arrivals bring the number of migrants to land on Malta in July to 880 — an all-time record for a month — while 1,200 people in total have landed on the island so far this year.
Tensions between the migrants, who are held in overcrowded detention facilities while their status is processed, and residents are frequent.
Pope Francis was also due to meet groups of immigrants who have successfully made the crossing.
His grandparents emigrated to Argentina from Italy, and as archbishop of Buenos Aires he denounced the exploitation of migrants as “slavery” and said those who did nothing to help them were complicit by their silence.
The anti-immigration Northern League party is again fanning the flames of racism in Italy, just days after a plea from Pope Francis for greater tolerance in the predominantly Catholic country.
The pope last Monday flew on his first trip outside Rome to the tiny of island of Lampedusa to “cry for the dead” migrants and refugees who perish trying to cross the Mediterranean to Europe.
He urged people to heed “the cries of others” on a trip that humanitarian organisations and Italian parliament speaker Laura Boldrini, a former United Nations refugee worker, hailed as “historic”.
But some politicians, who are little inclined to defend secularism in Italy on issues such as crucifixes in churches, abortion or gay marriage, called for greater “autonomy” from the Church.
Fabrizio Cicchitto, a deputy from Silvio Berlusconi’s People of Freedom party, said there was a difference between “religious preaching” and “a state handling a difficult, complex and insidious phenomenon”.
Lawmakers from the Northern League have gone further, calling on the pontiff to provide “money and land to house immigrants” who land in Europe.
The debate has taken a sinister twist after the deputy speaker of the Italian Senate, Roberto Calderoli, a leading member of the Northern League, compared Italy’s first black minister to an orangutan.
The remarks against Integration Minister Cecile Kyenge have been condemned by most politicians, with Prime Minister Enrico Letta speaking of a “shameful chapter” for the country and President Giorgio Napolitano saying they were an example of “barbarism”.
Calderoli said the jibe was intended as a “joke” and added insult to injury saying he “liked animals a lot”.
The Northern League on Monday even decided to capitalise on the publicity it is receiving and announced it would hold a demonstration against illegal immigration in Turin on September 7.
Kyenge, a doctor and an Italian citizen of Congolese origin, says she has received daily threats since being nominated.
Her reaction has been low-key but she has said the slur shows “a lack of knowledge of others and of the phenomenon of migration, as well as an absence of culture of immigration”.
The centre-left Democratic Party has been equally critical and leading senator Luigi Zanda said Kyenge’s proposal on a law to allow children of immigrants to acquire Italian citizenship should now be adopted as quickly as possible.
Historically a land of emigration, Italy’s foreign-born population has increased exponentially over the last two decades ever since the wave of immigration from Albania in 1992.
Since the revolutions in Tunisia and Libya there has also been an increased influx of migrant workers from sub-Saharan Africa transiting through these countries.
In 10 years, between 2002 and 2012, the share of immigrants in the population has tripled to reach 7.9 percent, according to figures from the labour ministry.
At a meeting in Rome on Monday, Letta and his Maltese counterpart Joseph Muscat called for greater assistance from the European Union to manage undocumented migration.
Muscat, who last week threatened to send migrants back to Libya, said the situation was “unsustainable” since there were no EU rules on the “pushback and push forward of migrants” to other parts of the EU.
A former member of the Christian Democratic party, Letta said it was “fundamental to apply the pope’s appeal launched in Lampedusa: ‘Never again’.”
The United Nations says thousands of people have drowned in recent years trying to reach Italian shores and 40 have died so far this year.
Italy has come under fire from groups as diverse as the Vatican and the European Commission for its strict new anti-immigration laws, which were passed in early July.
Under the legislation, illegal immigrants are liable to pay a fine of 10,000 euros (£8,700; $14,200) and can now be detained by the authorities for up to six months.
In addition, people who knowingly house undocumented migrants can now face up to three years in prison.
The new law also permits the formation of unarmed citizen patrol groups to help police keep order.
The European Commission is investigating the new laws to see if they comply with existing EU legislation on immigration.
“Italy is absolutely not a racist country. We just want to be sure that the immigrants who arrive on our land want to be here to work, not to make crimes,” says Paolo Grimaldi, an MP for the right-wing Northern League.
Mr Grimaldi, whose party leader, Interior Minister Roberto Maroni, ushered the new law through parliament, firmly believes Italy is facing an emergency.
With nearly 37,000 immigrants arriving on their shores last year, mostly via boats from Libya and Tunisia, many Italians agree.
“There are too many people. You see in the city, on the streets in Milan, two million immigrants, I think,” says one Milanese man, who did not want to give his name.
“I want to help people who are poorer than me, but I want to know where they come from and what they are going to do,” says Martina, a 23-year-old Northern League supporter. “It is better if they come here legally.”
According to Saskia Sassen, an expert on European immigration at Columbia University in New York, Italy’s new laws could be the beginning of “a catastrophic phase” for not only migrants but also Italian citizens.
“This law really alters the landscape by criminalising the violation,” she says.
“In the past you were in violation of the law. That doesn’t mean you were a criminal. This law means if you break the law, now you are considered a criminal. That’s a big deal.”
Mr Grimaldi readily admits that almost no illegal immigrants would be able to pay a 10,000-euro fine. In fact, he says, that is the point.
European Union laws oblige all 25 countries party to the Schengen Agreement, which allows passport-free travel across the area, to allow illegal immigrants to make two “mistakes”, and the new Italian law makes such “mistakes” more likely.
“We want to expel these illegal immigrants to their country of provenance,” Mr Grimaldi says.
“If they have already been arrested for something before, if they don’t pay the fine, we will have recidivism.”
The immigrant will have made two “mistakes”, and “so then we can make the expulsion”.
Italy issues very few visas to people who are already living in the country, and demand for work permits from potential immigrants greatly outstrips supply.
It quickly becomes a Catch-22 situation – illegal immigrants who have no visa are unable to get a job; those without a job are unable to get a visa.
As a result, both illegal and legal migrants have become an increasingly obvious presence on the streets of Italian cities.

Dj khaled was joking when he proposed to me-NICKI MINAJ ...

The U.S female hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj says DJ Khaled was just kidding when he announced on MTV last week he wanted to marry her.
"I want to be honest with you. I love you. I like you. I want you to be mine. I'm here at MTV because it's a worldwide network and the only reason why I'm not telling you face-to-face is 'cause I understand that you're busy," the Miami radio host said in his high-profile proposal.
Minaj fueled rumors that she accepted his offer of marriage by not immediately addressing the speculation, then wearing a sparkly ring on her left hand during the weekend.
However, she insisted th Khaled's offer of marriage was all a joke.
"I was shocked just like the rest of the world and I was cracking up laughing with the rest of the world 'cause Khaled is a master at what he does," MTV.com quoted Minaj as saying.
"Nobody in my real life took it seriously. Everybody just hit me like: 'LOL. Yo, Khaled is crazy.' Khaled is my brother and Khaled was not serious with that damn proposal, ya'll," she said. "Please let it go. He was kidding. He's not attracted to me. He doesn't like me. We're like brother and sister."

Roy Howard Middleton, 60, was shot in the leg early Saturday morning by sheriff deputies as he got out of his mother's car in his own driveway.

Another day in Florida.
Two Escambia County sheriff deputies have been placed on paid administrative leave after they opened fire early Sunday morning and shot an unarmed black man in his own driveway.
Roy Middleton, 60, had gone to find cigarettes in his mother’s white Lincoln Town Car, which was parked in the driveway of the man’s home in a quiet neighborhood in the town of Warrington.
A neighbor, who apparently didn’t recognize Middleton, called 911 to report a possible robbery, and police arrived at the scene at approximately 2:40 a.m.
Their guns drawn, deputies Jeremiah Meeks and Matthew White told Middleton to put his hands where the officers could see them.
Middleton told the Pensacola News Journal that he initially believed that the voices were from a neighbor who was playing a joke on him. When he got out of the car, however, the deputies began shooting.

"He wasn’t resisting or anything and he was at his own house,” Middleton's mother, Ceola Walker, told reporters.

"He wasn’t resisting or anything and he was at his own house,” Middleton's mother, Ceola Walker, told reporters.

“It was like a firing squad,” Middleton told PNJ from his bed at Baptist Hospital. “Bullets were flying everywhere.”
Middleton’s mother, Ceola Walker, 77, was sleeping inside the home at the time of the incident,
"He was just coming home like he usually does. I don’t understand why they had to use so much force under the situation," Walker told Fox 10 News. "I don’t understand how they could fire so many shots at him. He wasn’t resisting or anything and he was at his own house.”
Walker said she later found 17 shell casings, and her Lincoln peppered with bullet holes.
Neighbors and relatives describe Middleton as mild-mannered and law abiding, and a teenage girl who witnessed the shooting said she did not see the 60-year-old provoke the incident.
“He wasn’t belligerent or anything,” the girl told PNJ.
Bullet holes pepper the white Lincoln Town Car that belongs to Middleton's mother, who said she found 17 shell casings in her carport.

Bullet holes pepper the white Lincoln Town Car that belongs to Middleton's mother, who said she found 17 shell casings in her carport.

Middleton is still trying to figure out why the confrontation happened in the first place.
“Even if they thought the car was stolen, all they had to do was run the license plate,” Middleton said. “They would have seen that that car belonged there.”
Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shooting, and amid growing criticism, Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan held a press conference Monday. According to Morgan, the two deputies said that Middleton “made a lunging motion” out of the car causing them to “fear for their safety.”
Middleton, Morgan said, “had a metallic object in his hand.” That object turned out to be a flashlight attached to Middleton’s key chain.
The bones in Middleton’s leg are shattered and he will require the implantation of a steel rod in order to walk, but is expected to make a full recovery.
Like her son, Middleton’s mother is still struggling to come to terms with what happened.
“He’s my only son and for that to happen was just devastating. We know it wasn’t anyone but God that saved him,” Walker told Fox 10.

"If my husband cheats, I will castrate him' - Uche Jombo says in new interview ....

In this interview with Sam Olatunji, Uche Jombo speaks on cheating and new movie ‘Unconditional’.
What is it with the celebrity kids on your new movie, ‘Unconditional’?
We didn’t set out to use celebrity kids. I told everyone including you the age range I want and people suggested the kids. Aghahowa’s daughter has wanted to act since age 5, we auditioned Chigozie, and she did well and got a coach to coach them. 2face’s daughter is just a drama queen. And this movie, Unconditional is not all about them, Dakore, Ruth Kadiri and I acted in it. It’s the kind of move that will touch the heart.
If your husband were to be a serial philanderer like Desmond’s character in the movie, Lies Men Tell, what will you do?
I will castrate him, he knows and believes that. To me, there is no excuse to cheat, its either you are with someone or not, and if you are tired of the person, please accord the person decency of respect by saying it’s over. Don’t go making someone look stupid. The problem with me is there is no in- between.
Do you believe what you are saying or are you saying it for the purpose of this interview?
I am saying,Uche Jombo-Rodrigues doesn’t have in-between. That is the reason it takes me long time to make a decision or take a stand on something, but when I do, that is it. There is no excuse not to honour an agreement you have made, this doesn’t have anything to do with this interview. It is the principle that guides me. It is not just about marriage, it’s how I conduct my relationships, its either it is this or that, if that is mymind-set in a relationship, you should know that for marriage it’ll be 150%. There is no room for cheating.

So you believe your husband will or should not cheat on you?
I don’t have control over what someone will do, I’m not God. I’m talking about me, how I conduct things. It’s not an option that it will happen, I will not tolerate cheating.

Are you saying you will not forgive the man who cheats on you and is manly enough to say I’m sorry?
If you are in that situation Sam, oh God! You are going to slave for me for life. And do you know any man that will want to slave for a woman for life, answer?

Is it true you are older than your husband and the man you dated before him?
I have never dated or married someone I was older than in my life. If you have the illusion of someone’s age, that is your business, and I am even too mature for my age. That is the problem, because men of my age are ‘small boys’ around me, I can’t date them. I am someone who has to become a mother to some of my siblings at the age of 14. Because you are an under-achiever does not mean I should play down on my achievement. If age is the yard stick for you to succeed, you should not judge people with it, I don’t have an apology. If I’m learning from people who are older than me that is because I don’t hang out with my age mates; I don’t think there is anything else you want to teach me, and if you want to judge me by the people I hang out with or by when I started my hustle, where the hell were you at that time?  What really matters to me is that people who know me during my not-too-proud days are so proud that, this is me now. I have come far, it’s something I’m grateful for, and I couldn’t have even written it better if it were a story.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Ewan McGregor are set to join the Johnny Depp vehicle, Mortdecai, the comic crime thriller based on the series of books by Kyril Bonfiglioli.
No word has been forthcoming on Paltrow and McGregor's likely roles, but the film – apparently based on the final Mortdecai novel, The Great Mortdecai Moustache Mystery, which was completed by satirist Craig Brown – will be directed by David Koepp (Premium Rush). Described as "an amoral Bertie Wooster with psychopathic tendencies", Charlie Mortdecai is an unscrupulous art dealer on the track of Nazi treasure.

Depp's participation in Mortdecai was announced earlier this month in the aftermath of the disappointing box-office returns for his most recent blockbuster, The Lone Ranger. He is currently working on the big-screen adaptation of the Sondheim musical Into the Woods, while but has dropped out of Barry Levinson's Whitey Bulger biopic, Black Mass.

‘Why power can’t return to north now’...

As the debate over the 2015 presidential election hots up, an emerging northern group, Arewa Peoples Patrotic Front said on Monday that those clamouring for the return of power to the region should have a rethink since it ( the region) no longer exist as a single political unit.
Addressing a news conference in Kaduna, the National Chairman of the group, Mordecai Sunday Ibrahim, said that the north as a single entitle died long time ago when some leaders came up with the idea of the north and the core north.
Former Vice- Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum, Prof. Ango Abdullahi, was reported to have said that the north will take back power in 2015, hitting at the President’s men for denying the principle of rotation.
Mordecai said, “Prof. Ango and his team demanded that power must return to the north in 2015 but we want to know which of the north he is referring to. Not long ago, he was in this country when we were told of two norths – the north and the core north. We have seen and are still seeing the effect of that balkanization of the north.
“We also want to know whether there is any constitutional provision that prohibits President Goodluck Jonathan from having a second term in office. To our mind, President Jonathan and his Vice, Arc Namadi Sambo are doing their very best to move the nation forward given the circumstances they find themselves while serving as leaders of this country.
“It will be uncharitable of anyone therefore to say that they are not or have not done anything good to better the lives of Nigerians and so they should vacate office in 2015.”
He noted that for several decades, the north held on to power without any positive impact on the life of the people, saying “we had power in the north for decades, how did it change our fortunes? What impact did those northerners who ruled the nation for over three decades make in our lives?”
