At least 18 people were killed on Monday afternoon in an accident involving a truck and a commercial bus on the Benin-Ore Expressway.
The Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed the casualty.
The truck, laden with gravel reportedly lost one of its tires before colliding with the bus, travelling from Onitsha to Lagos.
The victims included two children and 16 adults and were burnt recognition. The corpses were deposited at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital.
