15 rescued, three missing after helicopter crash

Fifteen people have been rescued, and three are missing, after a helicopter they were thought to be travelling in ditched into the sea near Shetland.
An air and sea search, involving three helicopters and two lifeboats, is underway to find those unaccounted for, while nine have been taken to Clickimin near the capital Lerwick.
Their condition is not known, although eight are thought to have walked off the helicopter while one was carried on a stretcher.
A spokesperson for the coastguard said: ‘People that were involved are in varying states of injury, no-one has walked away from this without a scratch.’
According to reports the helicopter that crashed was a Eurocopter Super Puma operated by CHC and used to ferry people working on oil and gas rigs in the north sea. It ditched into the sea just two miles from Sumburgh.
A spokesperson for the company said: ‘Exact details of the incident, which happened at approximately 6.20pm are not yet known.’
‘The appropriate authorities have been informed and the company’s Incident Management Team is being mobilised.’
Sky news reports that the search mission is being affected by poor weather.
