For Lolo Jones, it was part of her job.
The Olympic hurdler, who is now hoping to make the
Winter Olympic team as a bobsledder, told USA Today that she's gained some 30
pounds during the past few months. She's done so by eating 9,000 calories a day
on a diet which includes two 1,365-calorie protein shakes and a McDonald's
double bacon cheeseburger.
And it looks like she's thrown a donut or two into the mix:
"I'm the heaviest ever in my life," Jones said. "It took so much work. I'm three
pounds away from my ultimate goal."
While Jones says she weighed in at about 135 pounds when she competed in
the London Olympics last year, after coming away without a medal she became
depressed let her weight slip into the 120s.
It wasn't easy to gain so much weight while also maintaing her figure, but leave it to a potential two-sport Olympic athlete to pull it off.
"I'm pumped about this muscle weight," Jones said. "My abs are still there. I'm still
cut, just super solid."
